Previously, adults with panhypopituitarism on ΓÇÿfullΓÇÖ hormone replacement therapy were considered to be restored to ΓÇÿnormalΓÇÖ, but recently it has been shown that, as a group, they have a marked increase in premature ΓÇÿtotalΓÇÖ and ΓÇÿcardiovascularΓÇÖ mortality, and also often have major abnormalities in body composition, physical performance, and quality of life. Replacement therapy with GH in deficient adults, however, is still experimental, and its role has not yet been accepted by all authorities.
